Nearly all drivers know the varying beeping alerts of car parking sensors when reversing. This article introduces WOMA’s robotic automated test station for parking sensor probes. The sensors detect obstacles by transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves, and adjust beep frequency according to calculated distance. Replacing manual inspection prone to bias, WOMA implements 100% full inspection for every sensor. With robotic arms, each probe completes picking, clamping, testing and unloading within 15–20 seconds under fixed test positions and angles. The station simulates real reversing conditions with obstacles at 2m, 1m, 0.5m and 0.25m, verifying the sensors’ distance measurement accuracy as well as the rhythm, volume and clarity of warning beeps.
